There's still time to register for this weekend's big ATV/side-by-side rally in Island Park, ID, Rally in the Pines.
Sponsored by PowerSports Adventures and Dirt Toys Magazine, Rally in the Pines is in its first year and promises to go big right out of the chute.
First, there are the rides-five guided and two "free" rides. The guided rides include Bishop Mountain, Mesa Falls/Warm River, Red Rock Pass, Two Top Mountain and the Railroad Trail south to Bear Gulch. The "free" rides, for those who don't want to do the group thing, are to Mount Jefferson and Sawtell Mountain. Maps are provided for the free rides. The other guided rides vary in length but all will provide spectacular views of the Island Park area and surrounding mountains.
The driver's meeting is at 9 a.m. on both Friday and Saturday. A complete schedule of events can be found on www.rallyinthepines.com. The Rally is being held next to the Buffalo Run Campground and RV Park on U.S. Hwy. 20 in Last Chance.
There are plenty of activities in addition to the rides, including demo rides, a Saturday night concert featuring Rocky Watson, a marshmallow roast on Friday night and more.
