We’ve been lucky enough to ride in some pretty spectacular places in the few short months we’ve been working on Dirt Toys Magazine.
One area that is near the top of the list is the Mines & Meadows ATV riding area (www.minesand- meadows.com) just south of Wampum in western Pennsylvania northeast of Pittsburgh.
We went to Wampum for the introduction of Kawasaki’s Brute Force 300 and rode lots of the trails in Mines & Meadows. However, the most unique feature of four-wheeling in that area is riding under- ground in old abandoned limestone mines.
Except for your ATV’s headlight, the mines are pitch black and almost eerie as you snake along the trail underground. It really was a cool ride—literally and figuratively.
Adam Campbell—one of the best motorsports photographers you’ll find anywhere—set up his elaborate light system deep inside the cave and caught us in action on the Brute Force 300.
