A Scottsbluff family-owned, auto parts business is now
dealing in off-road vehicles.
Heilbrun's Power Sports, a Polaris off-road vehicles and
accessories dealership, opened its doors last week next to the Heilbrun's NAPA
Auto Parts store at 230340
Highland Road, Scottsbluff, NE.
Heilbrun's Inc. owner Ted Heilbrun said it has been about
two months in the making, but everything is finally ready to go at the new
shop.
"We got the show room put together earlier this week,"
Heilbrun said. "We've got a sign up and we're ready to sell."
Heilbrun's has more than two-dozen 2013 Polaris ATVs and
side-by-side four wheelers. Models range from child-size versions to
tricked-out vehicles up to $20,000. In the future, Heilbrun said they might
also consider expanding into other brands and other Polaris trademarks
including Victory Motorcycles and Global Electric Motorcars.
Trained technicians will be readily available to service the
products sold at Heilbrun's. Four people have been hired thus far and Heilbrun
said more jobs will be available as the business expands.
A variety of vehicle accessories for the customizable
wheelers are on-hand. Enhancements including tire upgrades, winches, snow plows
and cabs for side-by-sides will be kept in stock and showcased on many of the
dealership's vehicles on the sales floor, Heilbrun said.
"Availability is something we've always focused on,"
Heilbrun said. "People need it, so why not have it on the shelf?"
Also, the company is in the process of building a test-drive
track. Janice Brown, Heilbrun Power Sports co-owner, said the track will allow
customers to try the products and see them in action before buying.
"The track will be the only one in Scottsbluff," Brown said.
"We're going to create a power sports destination."
It's been a busy year at Heilbrun's Inc., Heilbrun said. In
addition to the new dealership, Heilbrun's Inc. opened a new NAPA
location in Lusk, Wyo.,
making it the fifth Heilbrun's NAPA store
alongside their Scottsbluff, Kimball, Torrington,
Wyo., and Fort Collins, Colo.,
locations.
The Heilbruns have been in business in Scottsbluff for
nearly 60 years and Heilbrun said they will provide the same family touch on
these new ventures.
"We saw a need in the valley for a dealership that offers
this kind of quality," Heilbrun said. "Heilbrun's has been in the community for
more than 56 years and we're going to put that same commitment into this
business."
