supervisor Jeremiah Ingersoll announced he is extending the public comment
period an additional 45 days following a request from the Board of
Commissioners for Coos, Douglas and Lane counties. The comment period will now
end on Jan. 24, 2013.
The comment period is in regards to the Oregon Dunes
National Recreation Area Designated Routes Project. The DEIS is available at http://www.fs.fed.us/nepa/fs-usda-pop.php/?project=34220.
If you need a copy of the DEIS in another format, let the forest know and it
will provide it.
Printed copies of the DEIS will be available for viewing at
the Oregon Dunes NRA Office in Reedsport, OR, the Central Coast Ranger District
Office in Waldport, the Siuslaw Headquarters in Corvallis and at several public
libraries including but not limited to Eugene, Springfield, Roseburg, Bend,
Grants Pass, Medford, Waldport, Reedsport and Coos Bay.
On October 26, 2012 the Federal Register published the
notice of availability of the DEIS. The opportunity to comment has been
extended to Jan. 24, 2013. The decision that will be made for this project is
subject to appeal pursuant to Forest Service regulations at 36 CFR 215.

Written comments shall include your name, address, and (if
possible) telephone number; title of the document on which you are commenting;

the Responsible Official should consider in reaching a decision.
