In an effort proactively protect outdoor recreation access,
50 companies have donated almost 200 products to the nonprofit organization
Tread Lightly! for its Sixth Annual Charity Auction on eBay. The auction will
take place November 1-11, 2013.
This year's biggest auction prize, a Gator XUV 825i, was
donated by John Deere.
In addition to the Gator, the auction includes plenty of 4x4
accessories and products as well as powersports equipment and outdoor gear. One
hundred percent of the money raised will go to help keep off-road trails and
recreation sites healthy and open to the public.
"We're busy implementing strategies that are national in
scope, local in impact to help ensure outdoor recreation endures as part of
America's heritage for generations to come," said Lori McCullough, Tread
Lightly!'s executive director. "The money raised from this annual auction
is vital in helping Tread Lightly! promote respectful behaviors and raise
awareness of unacceptable behaviors as a means of protecting public access to America's
natural resources to enjoy a wide variety of recreational activities."
Tread
Lightly! is a national nonprofit organization with a mission of promoting
responsible recreation through ethics education and stewardship programs. The
program is long-term in scope with a goal to balance the needs of the people
who enjoy outdoor recreation with the need to maintain a healthy
environment.
