Team ITP racers notched four class victories and numerous podium finishes at Round 9 of the 2013 AMA Mtn. Dew ATV Motocross National Championship Series in Michigan. ITP racers won the College 16-24 class, Vet 30 Plus, Open C and Super-Mini 12-15 classes at Red Bud MX outside of Buchanan, MI.
"We had several ITP-supported racers finish on the box and four class wins at Red Bud," said ITP public relations representative Pat McGuire. "More importantly, about a dozen of our racers are either leading their classes in points or in the running for a championship with a good showing at the series finale in Tennessee. And a very determined William Lloyd secured the Junior 25 Plus class title, competing on a broken ankle."
At Round 9 ITP Pro Josh Creamer (BCS Performance) maintained his current third-place spot in the Pro class point standings with his eighth top-five finish in nine rounds. Creamer tallied 4-7 moto finishes to earn fifth overall using ITP Quadcross motocross tires. He currently has a 20-point cushion over the fourth-place racer in the Pro class points standings heading into the season finale at Loretta Lynn's.
Fellow ITP Pro Jeffrey Rastrelli recorded another top-10 finish by going 9-8 in the Pro motos at Red Bud. Currently eighth in the Pro class points standings, Rastrelli is just six points behind seventh. Rastrelli also competed in the Pro-Am class at Red Bud, posting 1-3 moto scores to earn second place.
The four ITP racers earning class overalls at Round 9 were Sam Rowe, Kyle Haynes, Westley Wolfe and Ricky Deering. After posting his fifth class victory in the College 16-24 class this season, Rowe retained his class points lead. He leads by 21 points heading into the final round.
Haynes won the Open C class for the third straight round and is the class points leader. He also earned two other podiums at Red Bud, finishing second in the 4-Stroke C class and third in the 450 C class. Wolfe rode his ITP tires to victory in the Super Mini 12-15 ranks. It was his third win in the class and seventh podium finish. Deering won the Vet 30 Plus class at Round 9 and is currently third in the points standings.
Lloyd, who had missed the previous round due to a broken ankle, secured enough points with a 16th-place finish to wrap up the Junior 25 Plus class championship for JB Racing/ITP.
Dylan Tremellen finished second in both his classes at Red Bud. His second-place finish in the Production A gave him a 10-point cushion over second place heading to Loretta's. Mike Barnhardt earned a third-place podium finish in the Open A class and took fourth in the 30+ class. He is currently in the running for the 30+ class title. Alexander Gillette earned two class podiums at Round 9, taking second in both the Production C and 450 C classes. Winner of three Production C class events in 2013, he owns a six-point lead heading into the series finale. Root River Racing/ITP racer Megan Manshack finished third in the Women's class.
In the Schoolboy and youth ranks, ITP racers tallied an additional nine podiums. Five racers are leading their class in points prior to Round 10. Haedyn Mickelson took second in both the Schoolboy 14-17 and 13-15 Open classes. Noah Mickelson was second in the Schoolboy 13-15 class at round nine. Schoolboy Jr. 13-15 points leader Blake Sarver finished second at Red Bud to retain his points lead and also earned third in the Schoolboy 14-17 class. Sam Steckly tallied two podiums, taking second in the 90 Open 12-15 class and third in the Super-Mini 12-15 class. Steckly, Sarver, Haedyn Mickelson and Maddison Guyer, who was fourth in the Girls division at round nine, each own the points lead in at least one class going into Loretta's. Brogan Guyer's two second-place podium finishes (90 CVT and 90 Auto) rounded out the Team ITP podium finishes at Round 9.
Round 10, the series finale, is slated for this weekend at the famed Loretta Lynn's Motocross outside of Hurricane Mills, TN.
