The Trans Cab seating system on the rugged Mule 4010 Trans4x4 model makes it possible to haul more cargo or more people as it converts from a 4-seat to 2-seat configuration.
You can change the configuration quickly since converting from one row of seating to two rows does not require using tools or removing parts. There is a wide variety of Kawasaki Genuine Accessories available for the Mule 4010 and Mule 4000 models including both a hard and soft cab, winches, windshields and skid plates. The 2017 Kawasaki Mule 4010 Trans 4x4 side-by-side was born with an unstoppable work ethic, an industrial design and an ability to have fun. It is driven by a powerful 617cc V-twin engine that is liquid-cooled and metered by a DFI system featuring digital fuel injection technology that helps the Mule start easier and run smoother. With a locking rear differential and 4WD, the Mule 4010 Trans 4X4 can get you where you need to go.
Its versatile Trans Cab seating system means it can carry two people and have a large loading area in the cargo bed, capable of carrying up to 800 lbs. Yet when the job demands more people, the seating area can be transformed quickly into the 4-passenger mode, gaining a bench seat behind the driver and shortening the rugged steel cargo bed, which can still carry up to 400 lbs.
The Trans Cab system requires no tools and no parts are removed. The operation simply requires latches to be released on the rear divider panel, which is then secured in the rear mounting position. The left and right bed extensions are then folded to the rear of the bed before the seat is raised and latched into place. It’s a simple operation that can be quickly executed by one or two people. It means the Mule 4010 Trans 4x4 side-by-side can go from work to play or transporter to hauler in no time, and still retain its 1,200-lb towing capacity at all times.
Additional features include a ROPS (Roll Over Protection System) structure, independent front suspension and a durable De Dion rear suspension system allowing the vehicle to be more durable and support large payloads, as well as Electric Power Steering (EPS), which reduces steering effort at low speeds and also reduces bump steer on rough surfaces. All Mule 4000 and Mule 4010 series models are fitted with sealed drum brakes at each corner to provide ample braking power and to help prevent dirt getting into the system.
The Mule 4010 Trans 4x4 side-by-side is available in a number of colors, including Timberline Green and Dark Royal Red. A popular option among owners who also use their Mule for hunting or fishing is the Realtree Xtra Green Camo finish, which allows the vehicle to blend into its surroundings and adds scratch resistance.

Mule 4010 4x4
Closely related to the Mule 4010 Trans 4x4 model, the 2017 Kawasaki Mule 4010 4x4 side-by-side shares many of the same attributes, with the exception of the Trans Cab seating features. This allows the vehicle to be shorter and offers more cargo bed volume when hauling cargo is your priority. They also share the same 800-lb cargo bed capacity when in the 2-passenger configuration and a 1,200-lb towing capacity, making them valued assets on the work site.
Thanks to Kawasaki’s heritage of heavy machinery, ships and aircraft, all Mule products are built with the same ethos for toughness, durability and endurance. The Mule 4010 4x4 side-by-side will be with you at the start of the work day, and will remain by your side as you wind down the day by the lake to enjoy some fishing.
It’s powered by an efficient fuel-injected 617cc 4-stroke, liquid-cooled V-twin engine that is coupled with a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) to help ensure the driver can haul or tow the tough loads.
The 4x4 system is selectable, so it can be run in rear-wheel drive when the going is easy, and switch to 4-wheel drive as required. The transmission also has high and low range to provide pulling power or top speed when necessary, plus a locking rear differential for when the conditions get really tough.
To make routine maintenance easy for the operator, all Mule 4000 and Mule 4010 series models have the oil dipstick and filler under the seat, and the cyclone-type air cleaner has a meter to indicate when it needs to be replaced.
The Mule 4010 4x4 side-by-side comes with a steel bumper to help protect the front end and a large number of Genuine Kawasaki Accessories available to extend the capabilities of the Mule including an optional winch that can be easily mounted to the sturdy chassis.
The 2017 Kawasaki Mule 4010 4x4 SE is available in a Super Black finish and with distinctive Special Edition graphics. It is also equipped with a hard sun top, powerful LED headlights and automotive-style retractable seatbelts for both front occupants.

With all of the features of the Mule 4010 models, including cargo and towing capacity, the MULE 4000 is a very capable side-by-side for the driver who doesn’t need 4WD.
A dual-mode locking rear differential and CVT to apply precise amounts of power to the ground, large off-road tires and independent front suspension give the Mule what it needs to get the job done.
