Dune Fest Was A Fun Fest

August 2016 Powersport News, Feature Web Exclusive

After experiencing our first ever Dune Fest event, we can hardly believe all that was crammed into four days last week at the Oregon Dunes.

Anyone who has been there knows what it’s like to see thousands (we heard around 10,000 attended) of people camped and riding on the dunes. There was vendor row (did you see us there?), more vendors out on the sand near the Pepsi Main Stage, sand drags, motocross, a Show and Shine event, freestyle show, a drive-in movie, treasure hunt, demo rides, poker ride, night ride and concerts.

We’re still trying to recover from all that fun. One of the things that impressed us the most was how family-friendly Dune Fest organizers—the Reedsport/Winchester Bay Chamber of Commerce—make this event. Some events claim they are family-friendly but this one truly is.

We took more pictures and video than we care to admit and even gave away a Camp Chef Rainier Campers Combo (www.campchef.com) to one lucky winner, Julie Warrington of Winston, OR, who signed up at the Dirt Toys Magazine booth. A big thanks goes to Camp Chef for supplying us with the combo to give away.

We also got a little riding in (along with thousands of others) on the dunes, which are as picturesque as any you might ride. Tough to be a view of the Pacific Ocean while you’re riding.

As mentioned, we took gobs of pictures so we’re going to spread them out over a couple or three posts. This first set of pics will be general event pics.
