Every now and then we come across some interesting products that don’t directly relate to the powersports industry … but have some useable applications. The GoGo Lantern is one of those that offers a unique concept for on-demand light.
Although it’s more of a hiking/camping product, a cross between a flashlight and portable lantern in a bucket that can be solar charged, it still delivers some pretty good light.
The GoGo Lantern doesn’t need to be attached in its bucket to be productive. We found that the flat (half-inch by 5.5-inch diameter circle) is a handy size for sliding in engine compartments for added light when working under the hood. It also features a strong magnet that allows you to attach it to anything metal when using.
When charged, we were getting about eight continuous hours of light … then it would shut itself off but still had enough light for about another hour of off and on use. It does charge faster when plugged in to power. But the solar charge seems to be effective as well.
