Friends Of Oceano Dunes (“Friends”) is a California not-for-profit corporation representing approximately 28,000 members and users of the Oceano Dunes State Vehicle Recreation Area located near Pismo Beach, CA.
The group’s express purpose is preserving and developing recreational uses in the Oceano Dunes area. Friends is a 100 percent volunteer organization with no salaried employees. One hundred percent of funds raised go to protect the park for continued camping and OHV use.
Friends has two major events coming up. One is the annual fundraising dinner in California’s Central Valley while the other is the Thanksgiving Pancake Breakfast Feed and information rally. Both of these events feature opportunity drawings and auctions to raise much needed funds for the Friends’ cause.
Help is where help is needed. Friends is seeking donations for the drawings and auctions. No donation is too big or too small and your efforts in helping the group with its fight are a critical part of the Friends yearly budget. Your donations will help ensure the continued success of Friends and allow the group to generate the capital needed to fight the many attempts to close the beach to historical camping and OHV recreation.
State Parks is being forced to close more camping and riding area to protect plant vegetation. Friends believes this is death by a thousand fence posts.”
