Last week we took off on a ride to see how far we could get in the Big Hole Mountains of eastern Idaho. Turns out, not very far up at all.
But we still had a nice 70-mile ride along the Snake River that runs along the southern edge of the Big Hole Mountains.
Try No. 2 came exactly one week later after fairly normal temperatures covered eastern Idaho between our two rides.
So how’d it turn out? About the same. More snow melted for sure but it’s still too deep to navigate in most spots, which meant we still stayed a lower elevations on our this time 50-mile ride.
The photos with this story don't show much snow ... because we found a stretch on the trail where we could shoot some pictures without snow. Trust, there was plenty of snow.
Like we said of our first ride of the season in the Big Hole Mountains: It still beat being in the office.
Don’t worry, though, we’ll still keep trying.
