After spending a couple of days riding snowmobiles in the mountains above Libby, MT, a winter ago we knew had to return some day to do the same thing in a side-by-side.
No, we couldn’t go off-trail like we did when we snowmobiled (which was phenomenal, by the way) near Libby, but scenery was so amazing we knew it would be fun from the seat of a side-by-side too.
We did that this week and were not disappointed at all. Even a steady rain at the start of our ride couldn’t dampen our enthusiasm.
We covered nearly 90 miles in a Arctic Cat Wildcat XX that Brian Gilmore of Northwest Motorsports (www.northwest-motorsports.com) let us borrow for the ride.
We were already having a good time but when the rain stopped and clouds lifted the ride was as amazing as the surrounding mountains. We trekked to the top of Big Creek Baldy Lookout, rode past Loon Lake and Turner Mountain Ski Area and saw a few animals.
