Ontario, Calif. - ITP-backed ATV motocross racers won six classes and had nearly 20 podium finishes at round seven of the 2014 Mtn. Dew ATV Motocross National Championship series held in New Berlin, NY. ITP-supported Pro Jeffrey Rastrelli earned his first career Pro class podium and also won the Pro-Am class at Unadilla Motorsports Park. ITP-backed side-by-side racers also competed this past weekend at round six of the World Off-Road Championship Series in Utah.
"We had a good showing, once again, in the Pro and amateur ranks in the Mtn. Dew ATV Motocross series. I was happy to see Jeffrey Rastrelli get a well-deserved Pro class podium finish and for us to go 1-2, with Rastrelli and Sean Taylor, in the Pro-Am class," said Pat McGuire, Public Relations/Race Support. "We also got five amateur class wins and another dozen podiums to maintain our chase for numerous national championships."
The Rocky Mountain ATV/MC National was held at the legendary Unadilla Motorsports Park MX track, which featured big jumps, technical sections and picturesque surroundings. Twelve Pro class racers made the journey to New York, three of whom were representing ITP. Pros Josh Creamer, Jeffrey Rastrelli and Sean Taylor, along with nine other riders competed for podium glory.
Saturday started off well for Creamer (BCS Performance/Can-Am/ITP), who has yet to earn a podium in 2014. At the start of the first Pro class moto, Creamer had tucked himself in third behind two other racers, including Rastrelli. A cut tire eventually slowed Creamer's charge to the front, but Rastrelli (JB Racing/Cheerwine/Can-Am/ITP) took over the lead on lap five. The young Pro dropped to second on the next lap, but never let the leader out of his site and ended up second overall. Creamer ended up sixth in the first moto standings. Taylor secured an 11-11 moto score for 12th overall.
Moto two started even better for Creamer, as his Can-Am equipped with ITP Quadcross tires propelled him to the holeshot. He led the first four laps and was pushing for a podium before dropping to second by the end of lap five. Creamer held that position for the next few laps, but then fell to third on lap seven. He finished in the top three to earn fourth overall for the day. For Creamer, who is now sixth in the season standings, it was his fourth, fourth-place finish this season.
Rastrelli came out of the gate challenging for the holeshot but was bumped back into fourth to start moto two. He stayed there for the first seven circuits of the Unadilla course before dropping one more spot a lap later. His fifth-place run and earlier second-place finish were good for third overall and the first Pro class podium of his career. Rastrelli wasn't done there, as he also kept his Pro-Am title hopes alive with an impressive 1-1 sweep on Sunday. He edged Taylor (Root River Racing/Motowoz/ITP), who took second with a 5-3 scorecard, for the class victory. Rastrelli's second overall win of the season pulled him to within seven points of the class leader. William "Duck" Lloyd (JB Racing/Cheerwine/Can-Am/ITP) was seventh in the Pro-Am class, but notched a win in the highly competitive Open A class.
Team ITP racers garnered four other amateur class wins at Unadilla. "Factory" Sam Rowe (Root River Racing/Pepsi/Rage ATV/Motowoz/ITP) maintained his hot streak, winning the 450 A class with a 1-1 score and also took third in the Open A division. The Honda rider, who currently owns the points lead in both classes, was joined on the box by fellow ITP-support racers Dylan Tremellen and Parker Wewerka. Haedyn Mickelson won three of the four motos he entered to win the 450 B class (1-1 sweep) and earn a respectable second-place finish in the Open B class (3-1). The other class victory and sweep was earned by Westley Wolfe, who won the Schoolboy Jr. Open (13-15) class. He also ended up second overall in the Schoolboy Sr. (14-17) ranks. RRR/Motowoz/ITP racer Megan Manshack recorded her sixth Women's class win of the year with a solid victory in New York.

WORCS 6
WORCS made its first trip this past weekend to Iron Mine Motocross Park in Cedar City, UT, for round six. Racers were greeted with a rough track, high temperatures and plenty of dust to keep them honest. Team ITP had racers competing in the SxS Pro and SxS 1000 classes.
"We had three racers in the top 10 in the Pro class and were just seconds off reaching the top five. Pablo Veglia did very well considering he started from the third row and had a lot of ground to make up and dust to deal with," said Ryan Edwards, Tech Support Representative/West Coast Race Coordinator. "And Kyle Melville was running solid, challenging for third place in the Production 1000 class, but fell victim to a mechanical at the end."
Earning the best Pro class finish for Team ITP was Del Amo Motorsports/Can-Am/ITP pilot Pablo Veglia, who took a very solid sixth-place finish, with adjusted time, despite starting on row three. The best finish of the year moved Veglia to ninth place in the overall standings. Mike Camp (IMG Motorsports) came in one spot behind Veglia and recorded enough points to jump into sixth place in the class standings. Nick Thompson also made the top 10, earning eighth place in his Polaris outfitted with ITP Black Water EVO tires.
Melville (Del Amo Motorsports/Can-Am/ITP) was in the top four and pushing for more before a mechanical ended his day on lap three. Shawn Viola recorded fifth in the SxS 1000 ranks, competing against 17 others. He came from ninth in his Polaris outfitted with 30-inch ITP Ultracross tires to tally his third top-five finish of the season. Racers Dallas Hash (ninth) and Alfredo Ramirez (10th) also made the top 10 for ITP. Ramirez is currently ranked fifth in the class, while Viola (seventh), Melville (eighth) and Hash (10th) are all in the top 10 with three rounds remaining this season.
