We just wrapped up day one of our first ride on the new Honda Pioneer 1000. Our play space for the day was the mountains of western Montana where we dialed up 50 plus miles on the new side-by-side.
It is smooth—from the engine power to the automotive-style transmission. We actually spent most of the day riding the Pioneer 1000-5 but did spend some time in the Pioneer 1000, which seemed to have a little more spunk to it.
We left the Paws Up Resort and rode to the ghost town of Garnet and then back again. We rode everything from wide-open mountain roads to tighter, rock-littered trails through the trees. The Pioneer did well and seemed right at home in that kind of riding, which is ideal for it.
We’ll have a full report in an upcoming issue of Dirt Toys Magazine.
