After two days of riding some of the most difficult, technical and amazing trails in the Moab area, today’s ride was a touch lower on the difficulty scale but way high on the amazing scenery scale. We tagged along with the crew from Camp Chef today.
We headed north of Moab and went above it all on the Seven Mile Rim Trail. It is almost difficult to explain just how scenic this area is. One thing we haven’t mentioned in our web updates the past few days is that the desert around Moab is in bloom and there are a myriad of colors exploding all across the desert. It just adds to the experience.
The trail skirts along the edge of the rim (mesa) high above the valley below, offering unparalled views of the entire—and we mean entire—area. The Determination Towers are imposing and the Uranium Arch is worth the side trip. There are several obstacles along the trail, including the Big Ledge, Silver Crack, Tippy Slickrock and, our favorite, Wipe Out Hill. We posted a video today of our descent and ascent and, as we mentioned on the Facebook post, the video doesn’t do justice to how steep this obstacle is.
