We experienced something at this year’s Rally on the Rocks that we have never experienced before in Moab: rain. And we’re not talking a shower or sprinkle, we’re talking full on rainstorm.
Needless to say, there was no dust during any of our rides during this year’s ROTR.
Despite the rain, we had another great time riding the various trails—including a couple of new ones—around Moab during the Rally. We detailed each day’s ride on our website, www.dirttoysmag.com, where we were able to show lots of pictures from the trails we rode, along with some short videos.
Actually the first day of the Rally—Wednesday—it was sunny and warm. The rain didn’t come until later and during the day on Thursday and a little in the morning on Friday and then again on Saturday. The rain didn’t seem to dampen the spirits of those who attended the Rally, as we still saw people out enjoying the trails.
The rain did give a new meaning to the term “slick rock,” though. That just added more fun to our adventure.
