Valcourt,
Québec - BRP has stepped up its off-road racing efforts for 2013 after another
successful campaign that saw Can-Am racers capture championships across North
America, including the SCORE Baja 1000 in Mexico, the 12 Hours of La Tuque in
Quebec as well as numerous national championship class titles in the U.S.
For
the upcoming season, BRP has signed new racers, added more racing circuits and expanded
its side-by-side vehicle racing support to include the all-new Can-Am Maverick 1000R.

have a dedicated and talented group of racers and teams competing under the
Can-Am banner for the 2013 racing season," Jimmie O'Dell, Can-Am race
manager, said. "I'm thrilled to have the all-new Can-Am Maverick 1000R in
the mix and to have some of our experienced racers pilot the industry's most
invigorating side-by-side vehicle. We will compete on Can-Am ATV and
side-by-side vehicles across the U.S.
and Canada
and we're are fully determined to compete for championships in every racing
series we enter."
Team Motoworks/Can-Am
Josh
Frederick is the sole representative of the Team Motoworks/Can-Am team in 2013.
The 2012 SCORE Pro ATV class champion and 2012 WORCS series Pro ATV class runner-up
will compete aboard the Can-Am DS450 in the Pro ATV ranks in the World Off-Road
Championship Series (WORCS). Frederick
will also be behind the wheel of the Can-Am Maverick 1000R X rs side-by-side in
SxS Pro Production (Class 1) in WORCS, the UTV Pro class in all the Best In The
Desert, SCORE and King Of The Hammers circuits.
Team BCS Performance/Can-Am
Headlining
Team BCS Performance/Can-Am is 2012 New England ATV Motocross (NEATV-MX) Pro and
Pro-Am class champion Josh Creamer. The former AMA ATV MX champion, who won
every NEATV-MX Pro class round last year, will make a full schedule return to
the AMA series competing on a BCS Performance-supported Can-Am DS 450. Creamer
will also compete at select NEATV-MX rounds.
Nick
Gennusa, the 2012 ATVA MX Rider of the Year, will also campaign under the BCS
Performance banner on a Can-Am DS450 in the AMA ATV Pro-Am classes as a Can-Am
X-Team member. Gennusa, of Wall
Township, NJ, won
three A class titles (450A, Production A, 4-Stroke A).
Team JB Off Road/Can-Am
Team
JB Off Road, a division of JB Racing, and owner Jody Bateman will support a
host of Can-Am racers in the 2013 Can-Am Grand National Cross Country (GNCC)
series. Jarrod McClure, a veteran ATV racer who contributed to the Motoworks/Can-Am
team's 2012 Baja 1000 Class 25 overall victory, will compete on the DS450 ATV
in the XC1 Pro 450 class. Also gaining JB Racing support in the GNCC series is Kyle
Chaney, who finished sixth a year ago in the XC1 class, and multi-time ATV
racing champion Tim Farr, who will join Chaney as a Can-Am Maverick 1000R
driver. Another rider with a new opportunity for 2013 is Sam Williams. Williams
will compete in the 4x4 Open class as an X-Team rider supported by JB Off Road aboard
an Outlander 800R. Williams will also assist JB Off Road by turning wrenches on
the team's Can-Am Maverick vehicles throughout the season.
Team UXC/Can-Am
GNCC
racer Michael Swift will make the switch from the 4x4 Open class to the U2
class this year and represent Team UXC Racing/Can-Am. Swift, who finished
runner-up in the 4x4 Open class aboard an Outlander ATV, will now be riding a
Can-Am Renegade 800R X xc in the morning session of the GNCC series. He's
essentially taking over for six-time GNCC utility class champion Cliff Beasley,
who retired at the end of the 2012 season.
Team
Del Amo Motorsports/Murray Motorsports/Can-Am
Best
In The Desert series runners-up finishers and brothers, Derek and Jason Murray
of Murray Motorsports have partnered with Del Amo Motorsports to form a
powerhouse team to compete with Maverick 1000R X rs side-by-side machines in
the Best In The Desert, SCORE and the King Of The Hammers desert series. The Team
Del Amo Motorsports/Murray Motorsports/Can-Am team will also have driver Pablo
Veglia as part of the squad and will join the Murrays driving in the SxS Pro Production
(Class 1) ranks at WORCS events and selected desert series events.
X-Team
In
addition to its full factory partnerships, BRP also offers amateur ATV and
side-by-side vehicle racers the ability to compete with factory Can-Am X-Team
support. In the 2013 Can-Am GNCC series, defending 4x4 Open class champion Bryan
Buckhannon returns as a Can-Am X-Team member. Buckhannon won nine class
overalls in 2012 on his way to capturing the title for a fifth time. X-Team
member and 2012 4x4 Lites class champion Kevin Trantham will return aboard a
Can-Am Outlander in 2013. Team Hendershot Racing will compete for the Can-Am
X-Team in the XC1 (SxS Modified) class with the new Maverick 1000R side-by-side
vehicle. Mike Penland will pilot the Maverick in XC2 SxS Limited action.
Other
Can-Am X-Team members who will pilot the Can-Am Maverick 1000R side-by-side
vehicle are Also, Michael Lansky and Cory Sappington will represent the Can-Am
X-Team inside Can-Am side-by-sides in the BITD, SCORE and KOH circuits.
Can-Am
DS 450 racers Keven Vachon, Bobby Desjardins, Mathieu Deroy and brothers Anthony
and Eli Deroches will all represent the Can-Am X-Team in the Courses VTT /
Quadcross series in Quebec,
Canada. Piloting
the Maverick 1000R side-by-side vehicle in the SSV Pro class in same series for
the Can-Am X-Team is Charles Villeneuve. Pro class racer Charles Laviolette
will represent the Can-Am X-Team in the Federation des Motocyclistes de
Sentiers du Quebec (FMSQ) riding a DS 450 ATV.
Several
other DS 450 racers will compete for the Can-Am X-Team in 2013. The list
includes Collins Webster (WORCS Pro ATV), Dillon Zimmerman (WORCS Pro ATV) and Zach
Harris in the Expert 450 in Iowa (District
22), Minnesota (District 23) and Illinois (District 17). AMA
ATV MX Veteran Pro and Can-Am newcomer Nick DeNoble will compete in select AMA
ATV MX National events and Wisconsin
(District 16) races aboard a DS 450 ATV. Finally, brothers Hunter and Cody
Miller will race for the Can-Am X-Team in both the Texhoma Quad Racing
Association (TQRA) and the Texas Off Road Nationals (TORN) series in both the
ATV Pro and Expert ranks and in the UTV classes with the Maverick 1000R X rs.
In
various ATV and side-by-side classes in the Championship Mud Racing (CMR)
series, the Can-Am X-Team will be represented by these teams: Gorilla Mud
Racing, Team NC Powersports, Team Anything Goes and racer Shane Dowden.
