RZRs filled the
podiums April 19-21 at WORCS round four at Sand
Hollow OHV
Park in Hurricane, UT, and at
the GNCC Big Buck in Union,
SC.
WORCS Round Four, a bit different than most WORCS
races, consisted of two laps of winding, sandy trails, rock climbs and
dune areas without the typical motocross section found at most WORCS
races. The course would challenge the almost 70 side-by-sides lining up
for the race, as many cars ended races early.
Polaris Factory Racers RJ Anderson, Beau Baron and
Ryan Piplic duked it out at full tilt through the course with Piplic in the lead
and Anderson on
his tail. Though he finished first, Piplic would
settle for second to Anderson in his Walker
Evans/Polaris/Loanmart/HRP Racing RZR XP 900 due to the time adjustment.
HRP/Polaris/Maxxis Racing's Beau Baron, the current WORCS points leader,
finished third.
RZRs also finished at the top of the rest of the
side-by-side classes at WORCS round four.
In GNCC, at the Big Buck in Union, SC,
Coastal Racing's Scott Kiger had a rough start but finished strong and
ended up in third place in the XC1 Modified Class and fourth overall. Teammate
William Yokley's day ended early when his front wheel came in contact
with another
machine's rear wheel and broke a steering
component. Yokley kept it in the family, though, with Big Country
Powersports/Yokley Racing UTV Team driver John Yokley finishing first overall
and first in the XC1 Modified Class.
The next WORCS race is at Honolulu Hills in Taft, CA,
May 10-12. The next GNCC race is the John Penton in Millfield, OH,
on June 1.
