Recreational motorsports is one of the fastest-growing family activities in the United States and, as a testament to that, the annual Rally In The Pines has more than doubled in size every year. This year will see riders from all over the United States come to ride ATVs and UTVs in beautiful Island Park, ID.
Rally In The Pines will be held Aug.23-35 and will feature ATV and side-by-side trail rides and motorsports activities like ATV/UTV geocaching and photo scavenger hunts.
The center of activities will be just north of the Buffalo Run Campground & RV Park at Rally Park. From here group trail rides will begin all three days.
Rally In The Pines will offer three types of group rides this year: scenic rides for those who wish to ride at a slower pace and would like to stop at the areas scenic attractions; skilled scenic rides for riders who want to experience the scenic splendor of the area but have a bit more of a challenge to their ride; and challenge rides for experienced drivers who want to ride in a scenic location and have the challenge of a trail with obstacles like rocks, ruts and gullies.
Many of the ride leaders at Rally In The Pines are long-time locals with lots of knowledge of the area and its history. They help the many visitors at Rally to have the best time possible and give them a peek at all that southeast Idaho has to offer.
Idaho State Parks & Recreation will offer its ATV safety class at the Rally In The Pines both Friday and Saturday morning. There is no charge for the class and everyone is welcome to attend.
On Saturday, August 24 will be The Rally Rendezvous will begin at 3:30 in the afternoon and continue until dark on Saturday, Aug. 24. There will be vendor booths, prizes drawings and a live concert featuring classic rock and country with Nashville recording artist Rocky Watson.
This event is sponsored by the Island Park Chamber Of Commerce, PowerSports Adventures, Dirt Toys Magazine, Starting Line Products, UTV Tech and Ryfab Industries.
The U.S. Forest Service, Idaho State Parks & Recreation, Idaho Tourism and the state of Idaho all help to make this event possible.
Booth space is available. Rally organizers are looking for local companies and artisans who would like to display their products at the Rally In The Pines.The cost of booth space is the donation of a prize for the Rally prize drawings.
