Well, that's not exactly quite true that last week was a vacation but I'll be honest, sometimes my job does seem like it's not necessarily all work.
Last week was one of those times when it was a lot more fun than work. On Sunday (Aug. 18) we headed to the central Utah town of Beaver. We were there to ride the spectacular Paiute Trail aboard 2014 Kawasaki Teryx4 side-by-sides. Early Monday morning we left Beaver and headed over the Tushar Mountains to Marysvale and then up to Hoovers River Resort, where we spent the night. The scenery going over the Tushars was really tremendous.
On Tuesday we made a quick ride up to the Silver King Mine and after that went up along the eastern flank of the Tushars before heading back to Marysvale and then returning over the top of the Tushars to Beaver. We dialed up 105 miles on day two of our Kawasaki ride. The T4 ran great and was a great vehicle to use to explore central Utah.
After the Kawi ride, we cleaned up, hopped in the car and headed to Parker, AZ. After a few hours sleep we rose early Wednesday morning and headed out of Parker into the desert to get some seat time in the new 2014 Polaris RZR XP 1000. Even the hot 110 plus degree temps couldn't dampen our enthusiasm about the newest RZR. We were definitely impressed with the power and ride of this Polaris.
As the temps soared, it was time to quit riding for the day. We started our long drive back to eastern Idaho, needing to get back for the third annual Rally in the Pines in Island Park, ID.
That's where we were Friday and Saturday. We were asked to guide a ride from Last Chance up to the top of Sawtelle Peak and back again. While it was a bit dusty, the ride was fun and we had a great group of riders each day. We put on 70 miles each day on our ride at the Rally in the Pines.
So it does kind of sound like I was on vacation last week but I was working. Honest.
Here are a few of my favorite pictures from last week's rides. We'll have a full report on the Kawasaki Teryx4, the Polaris RZR XP 1000 and Rally in the Pines soon so stay posted to our webpage.
