Every few days we’ve been taking the “opportunity” to head to the mountains and see just how far we can get up those mountains as spring marches forward and the snow recedes.
Our latest trip was to the Continental Divide near Kilgore and the quick answer as to how far we got into the mountains is:
Not very far at all.
That’s okay. We still had a great ride (77 miles in all) on the roads in the valley and you can’t beat the scenic beauty of the still snow-capped mountains.
We’ll stay after our quest to gain higher elevation.
